The idea of themissionlink arose from having a global pandemic and the situation in which we have all found ourselves. I have seen the same complaints registered on various social media groups so many times from women; how come it’s okay for my husband/partner to carry on his career as if nothing has happened when my career has been put on the back burner and I’m the one left with the housework and home schooling? For those working as well, you fitted this in around everything else during the day. Life as we knew it changed and home working has become the norm.

These sentiments really resonated with me because it shouldn’t be the case that you as a woman, a businesswoman, an entrepreneur, cannot have your own career as well, and it’s about time this was globally recognised.  Why can’t we have it all? 

There are so many who have given up successful careers to bring up children, or whose children have left home for university, and now what happens? You may have lost your identity and your voice and, believe me, you are not the first to find yourself in this position. 

I have worked with many businesswomen in the past and we are passionate about what we do, we want to succeed, we overcome obstacles that are thrown in our way, we are ambitious and we want to be the absolute best.  

My background and my desire to motivate and encourage women to really make their mark sparked my setting up themissionlink.  We needed a group to change the perception of our position in the world, to build a foundation where we can work together and forge a future.
